from our humble beginnings in 1882, we've proudly maintained our status as a family-owned business for over 140 years.

1882

Francis Hartridge purchases the Alliance Brewery in Hampshire. As well as brewing beer he starts making soft drinks, packaged under his name. Hartridges soft drinks is born.

1936

Francis’ sons, Austin & Edward Hartridge take over the business and it continues to expand as other breweries and soft drinks companies close.

1940

During the Second World War a German bomber dropped one of its bombs onto the factory. The brewery is destroyed whilst the soft drinks plant is spared. The business from that day on focusses only on soft drinks.

1952

The austere post war years were difficult but with the family trait of perseverance, they rebuilt and expanded the soft drinks business. Led now by Geoffrey, a third generation Hartridge.

1980

Now led by the fourth generation of Hartridges, the company invested in new bottling technology and started to grow it’s range of soft drinks.

1990

Chris, Martin and Geoffrey continued the company’s nationwide expansion and also start exporting to other countries for the first time.

TODAY

Over 140 years have passed since Francis first founded Hartridges but our values remain the same. The company is now led by the Fifth generation who are proud to carry on the legacy.
